Advanced Breathing Simulation: 9 Intelligent Control Modes
In contrast to the previous generation, which featured only static, fixed-pattern respiration simulation, the upgraded CPD dummies incorporates nine programmable dynamic breathing modes, enabling precise emulation of physiological variability under diverse real-world conditions:
  1. Fixed breathing rate, increasing amplitude
  2. Fixed amplitude, increasing breathing rate
  3. Fixed rate, amplitude increases then decreases
  4. Fixed amplitude, rate increases then decreases
  5. Fixed rate, randomly fluctuating amplitude
  6. Fixed amplitude, randomly fluctuating rate
  7. Both amplitude and rate vary randomly within defined bounds
  8. Occasional random breath (both amplitude and rate) inserted during normal breathing
  9. Occasional breathing pause(s) inserted during normal breathing (frequency adjustable)
These programmable modes allow the simulation of conditions such as restlessness, deep sleep, irregular breathing, and apnea—providing more rigorous testing scenarios for perception systems under fluctuating or low-signal conditions.
