Next-Generation Child Presence Detection (CPD) Target — Now Upgraded

Building on a proven high-fidelity CPD target platform, the latest generation introduces enhanced sensory interaction and automation, enabling more comprehensive and efficient in-vehicle child detection testing.

Newly Added Capabilities

1. Eye-Gaze & Visual Interaction Control
Supports controllable eye and gaze behaviors, enabling richer and more realistic visual-based detection scenarios for camera and vision-fusion systems.
2. Acoustic Simulation
Integrated sound playback allows simulation of infant/child crying, distress calls, and help-seeking sounds, supporting audio-based and multi-modal sensing strategies.
3. Multi-Task Automated Execution
  • Supports
up to 30 automated tasks in a single test sequence
  • Single-task duration adjustable from
10 seconds to 18 hours
  • Enables long-duration, unattended testing and significantly improves test efficiency and repeatability

Core Capabilities (Existing Platform Features)

1. High-Fidelity Vital Sign Simulation

  • Realistic simulation of
child breathing and heartbeat with high temporal accuracy
  • Multiple breathing patterns supported, including:
    • Rapid breathing (awake / emotional states)
    • Slow breathing (deep sleep)
    • Irregular breathing and apnea-like abnormal sequences
  • Micro-Doppler waveforms and spectral characteristics
closely match those of real children, optimized for millimeter-wave and radar-based detection

2. Radar Cross Section (RCS) Matching

  • Scattering characteristics designed to closely replicate real child body responses across multiple frequency bands (e.g.,
9GHz / 24GHz / 60 GHz / 77GHz/ 140 GHz mmWave)
  • 360-degree incidence angle calibration
, supporting radar detection from all in-cabin directions

3. Multi-Joint Behavioral & Posture Simulation

  • Approximately
14 degrees of freedom, using modular actuators
  • Supports limb motion, natural body movement, and posture variation for realistic behavioral modeling

4. Age-Specific Anthropometric Fidelity

  • Covers four high-risk age groups:
0, 1, 3, and 6 years
  • Body dimensions aligned with child anthropometric statistics, facilitating algorithm tuning and validation across representative age profiles

5. Broad Multi-Sensor Compatibility

Compatible with a wide range of in-vehicle sensing technologies, including:
  • Millimeter-wave radar (60 GHz / 140 GHz)
  • 4D imaging radar
  • Ultra-Wideband (UWB)
  • Wi-Fi sensing (e.g., 5.8 GHz)
  • Vision systems (RGB cameras, infrared / low-light / night-vision)
